REMAS
Mitigating carbon
emissions from forest
fire.

REMAS provides, among others, solutions based on scientific analysis to identify critical areas with the highest risk of emissions based on the amount of carbon stored in the forest ecosystem, in order to focus prevention, management, extinction and restoration efforts.

REMAS
Objectives

1. To quantify the carbon emission risk, contained in forest ecosystems, into the atmosphere by forest fires.

2.To propose emissions prevention measures and improve the capacity of ecosystems to store carbon after a fire.

3. To include CO2 emission risk in planning strategies and fire prevention plans at the transnational level.
